Training Division
The Ballet Pensacola Training Division is designed to develop young dancers throughout their most crucial years to be disciplined, creative, and technical dancers. The academy’s curriculum, designed by Academy Director Debi Janea, is a development of multiple historic ballet syllabi and styles. Valuable teachings such as theory, steps, terminology, and combinations are taken from methods such as Cecchetti, Vaganova, Bournonville, Balanchine, and others. These lessons are placed into a student’s training at the appropriate time of their growth as young dancers and are designed to progress students forward at a quality level of skill and technique. New students must audition for correct placement into all training division classes.
Ages 7-8
*Students entering Primary 1 must be 7 by September 1, OR graduate from the Pre-Primary Division*

Pointe
Designed to get our dancers ready for pointe work and training at a higher quality from a young age! (Pointe classes are a separate enrollment and are NOT included in assigned level placement or level tuition.) Students who have complete Level 1 may enroll in Pre-Pointe class and Pointe progression is then determined by the Academy Director. Students wishing to audition for the Student Company must be enrolled in pointe classes for the entire school season.

Contemporary synthesizes all extant techniques, with an emphasis on floor work and emotional expression, to create evocative pieces which reflect the modern world.
