Training Division
The Ballet Pensacola Training Division is designed to develop young dancers throughout their most crucial years to be disciplined, creative, and technical dancers. The academy’s curriculum, designed by Academy Director Debi Janea, is a development of multiple historic ballet syllabi and styles. Valuable teachings such as theory, steps, terminology, and combinations are taken from methods such as Cecchetti, Vaganova, Bournonville, Balanchine, and others. These lessons are placed into a student’s training at the appropriate time of their growth as young dancers and are designed to progress students forward at a quality level of skill and technique. New students must audition for correct placement into all training division classes.
Primary

Ages 7-8
*Students entering Primary 1 must be 7 by September 1, OR graduate from the Pre-Primary Division*

*Pointe classes require invitation/approval of placement by Ballet Pensacola Artistic Staff. Students begin in Pre-Pointe to begin exercises and training specific to building muscles and skills for pointe work, and are progressed onto pointe when ready, as determined by the Academy Director. *
